President Mahama to Host Czech President Petr Pavel on Historic Three-Day Visit Next Week

Jubilee House, Accra, Ghana - 04 April, 2025 - Ghana is set to host Czech President Petr Pavel in a historic three-day visit from April 8 to 10, 2025. This marks the first time a Czech President has visited Ghana since the two nations established diplomatic relations in October 1959.
According to a statement from the Presidency and signed by Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu, President Pavel will engage in bilateral talks with Ghana's President John Mahama, focusing on strengthening ties between the two countries during his stay. He will also address a business forum, aiming to boost economic cooperation and investment.
''President John Mahama will host the President of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Petr Pavel next week for a three-day visit to Ghana.
''The visit from April 08 to 10, 2025 will be the first by a Czech President since diplomatic relations were established between Ghana and then Czechoslovakia in October 1959. It will also be the first State Vist hosted by President Mahama since his return to the Presidency,'' portions of the statement read.
Additionally, President Pavel is scheduled to inaugurate a Czech-funded health facility, demonstrating the Czech Republic's commitment to supporting Ghana's healthcare sector. He will also visit iconic landmarks, including the Osu Castle and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
In a gesture of goodwill, President Mahama will host a State Dinner in honor of President Pavel, highlighting the significance of this historic visit.
This visit marks President Mahama's first State Visit since his return to the Presidency, underscoring the importance of strengthening Ghana's relationships with international partners.
