Mahama names Jones Borteye Applerh as Acting CEO of GIHOC Distilleries
Accra, Ghana - 22 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President, John Dramani Mahama, has named Jones Borteye Applerh as the new Acting Chief Executive Officer of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.
The appointment, effective immediately, was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of Ghana's Constitution, which empowers the President to appoint heads of state-owned enterprises.
GIHOC Distilleries is a major player in Ghana's beverage industry, producing a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The company is seen as a significant contributor to Ghana's economy.
Mr Applerh's appointment was announced in a letter dated 21 January, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama. The letter outlines Mr Applerh's responsibilities as he takes the reins at GIHOC Distilleries.
