Accra,October 23,2025 - President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in 37 new High Court judges, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and impartiality in the administration of justice. The ceremony, held at the Jubilee House in Accra on Thursday, October 23, 2025, marked a crucial step in enhancing the country's justice system.

Addressing the new judges, President Mahama stressed that their primary responsibility is to ensure the impartial application of the law and protect every citizen's rights, regardless of status or influence. He noted that recent judicial appointments, including those to the Court of Appeal, demonstrated significant female representation, with women constituting nearly the majority.

"I see that women are well represented here in this batch of High Court judges. Congratulations, and I ask the executive people sitting here to emulate your example," President Mahama said, commending the judiciary for its commitment to gender representation.

The President emphasized that the effective administration of justice is central to Ghana's democracy and economic stability. "Justice and industry are not separate beliefs; they are inseparable twins of the same mother. A country that invests in infrastructure but neglects the rule of law builds its development on moving sands," he stated.

The newly sworn-in judges are expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the judiciary's contribution to national stability, equity, and trust in Ghana's justice system. President Mahama urged them to remain incorruptible and ensure their judgments are guided solely by the law and evidence presented.

The appointment of these judges is expected to bolster the High Court's capacity to handle rising caseloads across the country, from commercial disputes to human rights matters.
