Kwakye Ofosu Accuses Ntim Fordjour of Spreading Falsehoods Over 'Suspicious Aircrafts' Claims

Accra, Ghana - 03 April, 2025 - Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has publicly denounced Rev John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, for allegedly spreading false information regarding suspicious aircrafts at Kotoka International Airport.

According to Ofosu, Fordjour claimed that two aircraft, AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B, were suspected of transporting cocaine and cash into the country.

However, after being invited to assist with investigations, Fordjour backtracked, stating that his views were not personal but rather those of a committee he represented.

Ofosu criticized Fordjour's actions, saying his claims were baseless and aimed at undermining public confidence in the government.

“I can report to you that because he knew he was peddling total falsehoods and lies, he now claims after being invited to assist with investigations that he was speaking on behalf of the committee that he was part of and that the views he expressed were not his personal views, so because of that he says he is unable to cooperate with the security agencies,” Ofosu stated.

“I say that he was peddling falsehood because the fact as they exist vary completely from the claims that he made. When he made that claim, he was only seeking to peddle falsehood in a bid to undermine the confidence that the people of Ghana have in this government,” he added

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has ordered an investigation into the matter.
