Accra, Ghana - 30 June, 2025 - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disassociated itself from comments made by its Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, regarding Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams.

In a statement released on June 30, signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party emphasized that Abronye DC's remarks do not reflect the party's values, beliefs, or official position.

The NPP's response comes after Abronye DC allegedly made verbal attacks on Archbishop Duncan-Williams, a revered religious leader in Ghana and internationally.

The party's leadership has emphasized that individual members' opinions do not necessarily represent the party's position.

''The attention  of the National Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been drawn to public commentary made by the Bono Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr. Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, in which he made some unfortunate and unprovoked remarks about the internationally revered Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams during a recent media engagement,'' portions of the statement read.

''The party unequivocally distance itself from those comments, and emphasise that they do not reflect the party's values, beliefs or official position. The New Patriotic Party holds religious leadership in high regard and recognises the immense contributions of Archbishop Duncan-Williams and the broader religious community to national development, peace, and moral guidance," the statement added.
