Former GIHOC MD Maxwell Kofi Jumah Released on GH₵500,000 Bail
Accra, Ghana - 30 June, 2025 - Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, has been granted bail in the sum of GHS500,000 with two sureties after his arrest in connection with the alleged theft of company vehicles. Jumah was arrested on Sunday, June 29, following a formal complaint lodged by GIHOC Distilleries, which alleged that he had unlawfully taken vehicles belonging to the state-owned beverage company.
At a press briefingin Accra on Monday June 30, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor disclosed that the police retrieved three vehicles belonging to GIHOC Distilleries during the investigation.
"We received the petition to the effect that some vehicles, which were the property of that company, have been stolen by the said Maxwell Kofi Jumah," DCOP Donkor stated. "He is in our custody at the CID headquarters, and he is assisting in an investigation."
Jumah's bail was granted on Monday, June 30, after he appeared at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
