52% of Ghanaians Support Removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo - Global InfoAnalytics

Accra, Ghana - 18 April, 2025 - A recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that a majority of Ghanaians support the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.

The poll, which sampled 2,545 voters across all 16 regions of Ghana, found that 52% of respondents favored the Chief Justice's removal, while 20% opposed it.

The survey also uncovered regional variations in voter sentiment, with the Greater Accra Region showing the highest level of support for removal at 58%. The Central Region also showed a majority in favor of removal, with 51% of respondents supporting the move.

The poll further highlighted that opinions on the Chief Justice's removal were influenced by educational background and political affiliations. For instance, 57% of respondents with junior high school education supported removal, while 50% of those with senior high school education shared the same view.

Among those who voted for John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 election, a significant 79% supported the Chief Justice's removal. The survey's findings suggest that there is a notable level of public discontent with the Chief Justice, with many Ghanaians calling for her removal from office.
