Akufo-Addo Congratulates Mahama on Election Win

Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his landslide victory in the country's 2024 presidential election.

In a gesture of unity, President Akufo-Addo has invited Mahama to a meeting at Jubilee House to initiate the transition process.

This was contained in a congratulatory statement released and signed by the Director of Communications at the office of President, Eugene Arhin on Dec 9, 2024.

President Akufo-Addo praised the Electoral Commission, the Ghanaian people, and all stakeholders for their commitment to a credible and peaceful electoral process. He emphasized Ghana's enduring democratic values and its dedication to the rule of law.

Mahama's victory marks his return to the presidency, having previously served from 2012 to 2016. His campaign focused on tackling Ghana's economic challenges, including rising unemployment and high inflation.
