Accra, Ghana  - The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has reaffirmed the integrity and robustness of the 2024 Voters' Register, dismissing claims of discrepancies and urging citizens to disregard misinformation.

In a post on X on Wednesday, the EC assured the public of its preparedness for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the reliability of the Voters' Register.

This comes after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) raised concerns about alleged discrepancies in the register, calling for corrections before the elections.

NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, echoed these concerns at a campaign rally in Adjen Kotoku, Greater Accra Region, on Wednesday, urging the EC to address the issues promptly to safeguard the electoral process's integrity.

“A lot of people cannot find their names. Other people’s names have been transferred without their knowledge. People have registered for a proxy without using their biometric cards. People who have done multiple registrations their names are still on the register,” he stated.

However, the EC  in the post on X noted that “The 2024 Voters Register is robust and credible. ignore assertions that the voters Register is not fit for the 2024 Elections.”
