EC addresses ballot statistics controversy, says printing notices of poll begins today, not ballot papers
Accra, Ghana - October 11, 2024 - The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has moved to calm nerves over the provision of ballot statistics for the upcoming 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
In a statement, the Commission assured the public that the printing of ballot papers has not yet started.
Notices of Poll for both the presidential and parliamentary elections are scheduled to begin printing today, Friday, October 11, 2024.
However, the actual ballot paper printing will only commence after the Commission provides ballot statistics to all candidates, political parties, and printing houses.
This clarification comes amid concerns raised by some stakeholders, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which expressed doubts about the EC's ability to start ballot printing amid unresolved concerns.
