Two Arrested in Gruesome Murder at Tema Harbour

Tema, Ghana - 02 June, 2025 - The Tema Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in a gruesome murder that occurred within the Tema Harbour area in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement from the police, they received a distress call on Friday, May 30, 2025, about a lifeless body discovered in the harbour enclave. Following a swift response, officers investigated the scene and later received information about a man being detained by the public for allegedly carrying a human head. The police intervened, rescuing the suspect, identified as Ali Mustapha, and took him into custody.

Further probe led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed.

The police, in a statement noted that the body has been sent to the Police Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination, and authorities are working to determine the victim's identity. The two suspects remain in police custody pending further investigation.

“The police swiftly proceeded to the second location and rescued the suspect, who was identified
as Ali Mustapha.

“He was subsequently taken into custody. Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed,” portions of the statement said.
