President Mahama Swears in Dzifa Gomashie, Opare Addo, and Three Others
Accra, Ghana - 24 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has formally inaugurated five new ministers, tasking them with driving the country's development agenda forward.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Jubilee House, followed the ministers' approval by Parliament after a thorough vetting process. The new appointees are expected to play pivotal roles in addressing Ghana's pressing challenges.
The new ministers include Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who will oversee the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Mr. George Opare Addo, who will lead the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment. Other appointees include Madam Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development; Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; and Madam Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness.
President Mahama emphasized the need for transparency, accountability, and innovation in the ministers' work, urging them to collaborate with stakeholders to effectively deliver on their mandates.
