Accra, Ghana - 18 Feb, 2025 - Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, has filed a lawsuit against the Government of Ghana, contesting the legality of a directive that led to widespread dismissals in the public sector.

The lawsuit claims that President John Dramani Mahama's Chief of Staff exceeded constitutional authority by ordering the revocation of appointments made within the Public Services of Ghana.

The directive, issued on February 10, 2025, prompted government institutions to terminate appointments, sparking concerns over the legitimacy of the decision.

At the heart of the dispute lies the question of whether the government's actions constitute an unlawful termination of employment. Under Ghanaian law, termination of employment can be deemed unlawful if it contravenes statutory provisions or the terms of an employee's contract.
