Effutu NDC Executives Apologize for Vandalism
Effutu, Ghana - 27 Jan, 2025 - A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch executives in the Effutu constituency have apologized for vandalizing party property during a protest last week.
The executives had been demanding the appointment of James Kofi Annan as the parliamentary candidate for the area.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Angela Mensah expressed regret for their actions, saying they had caused harm to the party's reputation. They acknowledged that their behavior was unacceptable and promised to find more constructive ways to address their grievances in the future.
The apology comes after the group's protest turned violent, resulting in damage to party property. The incident has sparked concerns about the level of discipline within the NDC's ranks.
“We, the Concerned Branch Executives of the NDC in the Effutu constituency want to express our deep regret for our actions during our January 24 demonstration. We write to apologise for our regrettable actions.
“Our behaviour was unacceptable and we understand our actions have caused more harm than good to the party’s reputation and we acknowledge that our demands should have been channelled through peaceful means.”
