Nobel International Business School Partners with Parliament to Launch $180,000 Scholarship Fund for Members and Staff

Accra, Ghana - 19 June, 2025 - Ghana's Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has received a courtesy call from a delegation led by Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, founder of Nobel International Business School (NIBS). 

The visit was aimed at recognizing Speaker Bagbin's leadership in navigating the country's hung parliament and his role in enhancing the capacities of members of parliament and staff.

Professor Atuahene-Gima praised Speaker Bagbin's creative and innovative leadership, stating that his ability to manage the hung parliament had been instrumental in maintaining stability in the country.

“There was a time in Ghana if we didn’t have a very stable, creative innovated hand, this nation wouldn’t have survived ‘’. 

He commended the Speaker's efforts in developing the capacities of members and staff, noting that NIBS wished to collaborate with Parliament to further enhance these capacities.

As a token of appreciation, Professor Atuahene-Gima announced that NIBS would be awarding scholarships worth $180,000 to members of parliament and staff to pursue courses in Doctor of Public Sector Innovation and Leadership, as well as Master of Public Sector Innovation and Leadership. The scholarships would be awarded in Speaker Bagbin's name.

 ‘’We are here to give you something that is hopefully everlasting and that is a scholarship in your name’’, Professor Atuahene-Gima stated.

Speaker Bagbin expressed gratitude for the initiative and commended the delegation for recognizing his efforts.

He highlighted the positive initiatives implemented during his leadership, including a $160 million project to build the capacities of members and staff. The Speaker urged members and staff to take advantage of the scholarship offer, emphasizing that it would be a valuable opportunity for personal and professional development.

The collaboration between NIBS and Parliament is expected to enhance the skills and knowledge of members and staff, ultimately contributing to more effective governance and leadership in Ghana.
