Nationwide manhunt launched for election violence suspects, Police offer GH₵20k reward for Information

A nationwide search is underway in Ghana for a group of individuals suspected of threatening violence in Obuasi ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH₵20,000 reward for information leading to their arrest.

The suspects, who have been on the run since November 15, 2024, were seen in a viral video making alarming statements aimed at disrupting the December polls. The police have described their actions as a breach of public peace and declared them wanted.

The suspects, identified as Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu, also known as "Agya Musah," along with their accomplices, have been on the run since November 15, 2024.

The police, in a statement released on Nov 24, urged the public to support their operation by providing credible information that could lead to the suspects' arrest. A dedicated phone number, 0547927272, has been set up for this purpose.

"A reward of twenty thousand cedis (GH₵ 20,000.00) is being offered for any person who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Anyone with credible information may contact the Police through a dedicated phone number 0547927272,'' parts of the statement read.
