Ghana Elections: NDC seeks detailed statistics on ballot paper from EC before printing
Accra, Ghana - October 9, 2024 - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to provide detailed statistics on the printing of ballot papers before the process begins, citing concerns over past allegations of additional ballot paper printing.
This demand follows the EC's notification to the NDC about the upcoming ballot paper printing and an invitation for the party's agents to be present at the Commission's office on Thursday, October 10.
In a letter to the EC on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the NDC emphasized the need for accurate statistics to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process. The party referenced its earlier request for Electoral Code books, stressing that precise data is essential.
The NDC also urged the EC to provide timely notices to political parties on crucial national matters, rather than brief notifications.
