Naa Momo Lartey Meets CSOs to Foster Collaboration, Drive National Development

Accra, Ghana - 08 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has reaffirmed her commitment to fostering effective partnerships with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to drive social protection, gender equality, and national development.
In a meeting with key stakeholders from CSOs on Thursday, Dr. Lartey commended the organizations for their ongoing support and partnership with the Ministry. She emphasized her commitment to strengthening these collaborations, stating, "As a Ministry, we are poised to continue working with you and even do better. You have invaluable expertise that we can tap into to make this country a better place for all.''
Dr. Lartey highlighted President Mahama's strong commitment to reducing vulnerability and assured the CSOs of her Ministry's dedication to working hand-in-hand with them to strengthen social protection systems. She also reaffirmed the President's dedication to decentralizing the School Feeding Programme to ensure every Ghanaian child benefits.
The Minister announced plans to embark on a field monitoring visit to engage beneficiaries and stakeholders firsthand, assessing challenges, and identifying ways to improve the programme effectively. She also emphasized her commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs through the Women's Development Bank and commended stakeholders who contributed to the passage of the Affirmative Action Act.
Representatives from various CSOs, including Wildaf, Netright, and Abantu for Development, attended the meeting and shared insights on how they could further collaborate with the Ministry to achieve the government's overall agenda.
