Mahama Appoints Prof. Nana Ama Klutse as EPA Boss

Accra, Ghana - 18 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Professor Nana Ama Klutse as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Prof. Klutse, a leading expert in climate science, will bring her extensive experience to bear in addressing Ghana's pressing environmental challenges, including climate change, air pollution, and waste management.

Currently, Prof. Klutse serves as the Head of the Department of Physics at the University of Ghana and Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group.

In a statement on her X account (formerly Twitter), Prof. Klutse expressed her commitment to working with stakeholders to develop practical solutions to Ghana's environmental challenges, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable future for the country.

“I am deeply grateful to @JDMahama for entrusting me with the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Environmental Protection Agency, Ghana. It is both an honour and a great responsibility to serve our nation at a time when environmental issues are so pressing.
