Mahama Appoints Abraham Amaliba as Acting Director-General of National Road Safety Authority

Accra, Ghana - 24 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President has appointed Mr. Abraham Amaliba as the Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), effective January 23, 2025.

This appointment was confirmed by a letter from the Office of the President, signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.

The letter emphasized that the appointment aligns with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993). Mr. Amaliba will serve in an acting capacity until the NRSA Governing Board provides the necessary advice, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

As Acting Director-General, Mr. Amaliba will lead the NRSA in its mission to reduce road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries in Ghana. The Authority's mandate includes promoting road safety, developing and coordinating policies, and enforcing road safety standards.
