Interior Minister Lifts Curfews in Chereponi and Bunkpurugu
North East Region, Ghana - 22 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak, has lifted curfews in Chereponi and Bunkpurugu, effective immediately, following a recommendation from the North East Regional Security Council, citing improved security and the community's commitment to peace.
The government in a statement expressed gratitude to local leaders and residents for their efforts in promoting harmony and encouraged them to continue resolving issues peacefully.
In the past, restrictions on movement were put in place in these areas to address safety issues.
