I Had No Knowledge of Parliamentary Invitation, but I'm Ready to Answer Any Question - Ablakwa
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is Ghana's Foreign Affairs Minister

Accra, Ghana - 14 June, 2025 - Ghana's Foreign Affairs Minister has broken his silence over a controversy surrounding his absence from parliamentary proceedings. In a statement, the Minister clarified that he was unaware of an invitation to respond to questions in Parliament.

The Minister emphasized his respect for Parliament and the Speaker, and assured that he would always make himself available to answer questions when properly notified. He expressed his willingness to respond to the specific questions at the center of the controversy once he receives formal notice from Parliament.

''For the record: I had no knowledge of the parliamentary invitation; I will always avail myself for parliamentary questions as I have done diligently and consistently; my high regard and utmost respect for Parliament and the Speaker cannot be questioned and I am ready to respond to the questions in issue when parliament's notice is brought to my attention,'' he wrote on his X account.

The Minister's statement appears to be an effort to quell concerns about his relationship with Parliament and his commitment to accountability.
