Former Labour Minister Freed on GHC 500k Bail over Supporter's Death

Accra, Ghana - 04 Feb, 2025 - A Ghanaian court has granted former Labour Minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah bail in the sum of GHC 500,000 with two sureties.
Baffour Awuah, who is facing charges of abetment to commit murder, is set to return to the Sunyani District Magistrate Court B on February 17, 2025 along with fellow suspect Joseph Kyeremeh who was also granted bail.
The former Minister, who is also the president of Nsoatreman F.C., was arrested in connection with violent disturbances that erupted during a football match between Nsoatreman F.C. and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Meanwhile, a third suspect, Agyemang Duah Owusu, was remanded in police custody.
As part of his bail conditions, Baffour Awuah has been ordered to surrender his passport for 14 days and is restricted from traveling outside the Sunyani Municipality without court approval.
