Ghana to Host ICC Umpires Tutors' Course from May 27-29

Accra, Ghana - 24 May, 2025 - Ghana is set to host a prestigious ICC Level One Umpires Tutors' Course, scheduled to take place from May 27 to 29, 2025, at the University of Ghana.

This three-day training program, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in collaboration with the Ghana Cricket Association, aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively tutor and mentor cricket umpires in Ghana and beyond.

The course will bring together 13 carefully selected individuals from ICC Africa member nations, who will undergo a certified program covering various aspects of umpiring, including rules, regulations, best practices, and other key areas.

According to Mr. Emmanuel Asare, President of the Ghana Cricket Association, this initiative is part of the ICC's efforts to promote cricket globally and enhance the capabilities of its member associations. The training will be led by renowned instructors Master Lauren Agenbag and Thomas Mokorosi.

This event underscores Ghana's growing role in promoting cricket in Africa and highlights the ICC's commitment to developing the sport worldwide.
