Election 2024: Mahama warns he will not accept flawed election results

Ghana's main opposition candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that he will only accept the results of the upcoming presidential election if the process is transparent and credible.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC, Mr Mahama expressed concerns about the fairness of the electoral process, citing the potential for violence or irregularities to undermine the integrity of the election.

He stressed the importance of ensuring a free and fair election, noting that the integrity of the process is crucial for Ghana's democracy.

“If on the election day, there is widespread ballot snatching, beating of people and the military moving in and intimidating people and thugs are all over the place, rampaging the place, you want me to accept that result? It will depend on the transparency and the fairness of the process,” he stated.
