ECG Dismisses Allegations Over Koforidua Fire Outbreak
Koforidua, Ghana - 27 Jan, 2025 - The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has rejected claims that its staff sparked a fire at a residential facility in Koforidua during a disconnection exercise.
According to ECG, the customer owed GH¢6,519.38 since September 2024 and had illegally reconnected their power supply. The disconnection exercise was carried out safely and in line with standard procedures, the company said in a statement.
ECG has rejected claims that its staff caused the fire outbreak, describing the allegations as "completely false". The company emphasized its commitment to safety and professionalism, and urged customers to pay their bills promptly and avoid illegal connections.
