Accra, Ghana - Nov 14, 2024 - The Electoral Commission of Ghana is gearing up for the December 7 elections by transporting ballot papers nationwide, starting today, November 14.

The distribution schedule was shared with political parties' General Secretaries via a letter dated November 13.

Here's how the rollout will work:

- Phase 1 (Today, November 14): Greater Accra Region
- Phase 2 (Friday, November 15): Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions
- Phase 3 (Saturday, November 16): Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions

According to the EC, these efforts are part of a month-long preparations, which also included finalizing voter registration, allocating polling stations, and training election officers.

To ensure transparency and security, ballot papers will be stored in secure police facilities in each region until election day. On December 7, they'll be handed over to officials in the presence of party representatives.

The Electoral Commission has reassured the public that strict security measures are in place to protect the integrity of the electoral process and prevent tampering or unauthorized access .
