Dr Amoakohene Visits Scene of Odumase Explosion, Donates GHC5k to Each Victim

Odumase, Ashanti Region, Ghana - 07 March, 2025 - A devastating explosion in a shop selling explosives in Odumase, near Konongo, has killed three people and injured several others.

The blast, which occurred on March 6, destroyed buildings and left multiple people, including firefighters, injured.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has visited the scene and donated GHC5,000 to each affected household. He has also assured the public that investigations are ongoing and those responsible for the unauthorized sale of explosives will be held accountable.

The incident has raised concerns about safety and the sale of explosives in the area. Authorities have confirmed that five people remain hospitalized, with two critically injured patients being considered for transfer to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for advanced treatment.
