DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe Takes Over as Ashanti Regional Police Commander

Accra, Ghana - 12 Feb, 2025 -  DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe has been appointed as the new Ashanti Regional Police Commander, replacing DCOP Frank Abrokwa.

DCOP Abrokwa's reassignment follows criticisms of his handling of security during the Ashanti Regional Council of State election on February 11 which was was deemed unsatisfactory.

The election was marred by violence and disruption, with machomen allegedly affiliated with the opposition NDC storming the voting center. Abrokwa's failure to maintain order and prevent the chaos has led to his reassignment to the capital city.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has welcomed the change, emphasizing the need for effective collaboration between the police and regional authorities to maintain stability and security.
