President Mahama Names Dr. Hanna Bissiw to Lead Minerals Development Fund

Accra, Ghana - 12 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw as the new Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund (MDF), a key institution responsible for providing funding for development initiatives in mining communities.
Dr. Bissiw, a former Member of Parliament for Tano South in the Brong Ahafo Region, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has served as Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, as well as Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture.
As Administrator of the MDF, Dr. Bissiw will oversee the allocation of resources to mining communities, ensuring transparency and efficiency in funding distribution.
The MDF was established by Act 912 in 2016 to provide a reliable and predictable source of funding for development initiatives in mining communities.
