Consider our sons and daughters in forming your team - Volta House of Chiefs to President Mahama
Accra, Ghana - 12 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's Volta Region House of Chiefs has urged President John Dramani Mahama to give individuals from the region key roles in his new government.
In a congratulatory message, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the House praised Mr Mahama's historic re-election and emphasized the region's potential to contribute to the country's development. Togbe Tepre Hodo, President of the House, highlighted the Volta Region's significant cultural and economic importance, saying it deserves "its fair share of priorities".
The paramount chief asked the president to trust individuals from the region to help achieve his economic rejuvenation agenda. He also pledged the House's support for the new administration and its commitment to contributing to the nation-building agenda.
The House expressed its willingness to collaborate with the government to address challenges and opportunities, ensuring that no community is left behind. With the president's guidance, they believe development can be fostered to meet the needs of the people.
“The Volta Region plays a significant role in the cultural and economic landscape of Ghana; and as you outlined during your interaction with the Volta Region House of Chiefs during your recent campaign, our Region deserves its fair share of priorities as outlined in your manifesto.
“We want to urge you to consider our sons and daughters in forming your team, and to ensure that the region is represented adequately in doing so. They serve as role models for the youth of the region, and will undoubtedly support you in achieving your aims.''
“We look forward to working collaboratively with your administration to address the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead; and we believe that, under your guidance, we can foster development that aligns with the needs of the people, ensuring that no community is left behind.
