Bawumia promises simplified passport application process
Nkwanta North, Ghana - October 29, 2024 - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, has pledged to streamline Ghana's passport application process.
During his campaign visit to Nkwanta North in the Oti Region on Monday, October 28, 2024, Dr. Bawumia announced plans to utilize Ghana Card data for passport applications, eliminating tedious form-filling.
"We have realised that a lot of people are interested in acquiring passports but the process is tedious. I intend to simplify this process, I have realised that the information requested is on the Ghana Card.
“What we will then do is to make people submit their Ghana Card and pay the fees, it will be simple, you will not fill any forms from 2025," he added
In a separate engagement, a paramount chief in the Akan constituency expressed regret over the Oti Region's limited support for the NPP in previous elections, despite the party's role in creating the region.
