Accra, Ghana - October 29, 2024 - Akua Donkor, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has passed away at Ridge Hospital in Accra, Ghana. She was 72 years old.

Donkor's death was confirmed by a family source to Citi FM on Tuesday, October 29, with the family member disclosing that she passed away on Monday, October 28.

Donkor was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, known for her advocacy for farmers' and women's rights. She was a bold and outspoken leader who captured the public's attention with her grassroots approach.
