Atuabo Gas Plant Upgrade Gains Steam: Jinapor Praises Progress During Inspection
Western Region,Ghana ,August 21,2025 - To guarantee sustained growth in the energy sector, Energy and Green Transition Minister John Jinapor conducted an on-site inspection of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, where critical maintenance work is underway. The Minister commended the progress achieved thus far and encouraged the workforce to sustain their efforts, ensuring the project's timely completion.
The Ghana Gas Infrastructure project, a key component of the country's energy structure, is undergoing a scheduled shutdown to augment production and increase its processing capacity. Upon completion, the plant's output is expected to increase from 100 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) to 120 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day, a significant boost to Ghana's energy production.
Minister Jinapor assured the workers on site of the support of the Mahama administration.He emphasized the importance of completing the project on schedule, highlighting the impact it will have on Ghana's energy sector.
The scheduled maintenance works are aimed at ensuring optimal performance. The increase in production capacity will not only meet the growing energy demands of the country but also contribute to Ghana's economic growth and development.
