Accra, Ghana – 18 July, 2025 – The Ghana Police Service has sent a strong message to perpetrators of electoral violence, assuring the public that arrests will soon be made in connection with the violent incidents that marred the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun on Friday, July 11, 2025.

It also mentioned in a press statement that it has made significant progress in their investigations, gathering vital leads and analyzing video evidence to identify all individuals involved in the chaos.

The police thus appealed to the public to report any relevant information via emergency numbers 18555 or 191. The public's cooperation is crucial in bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

In a significant development, the officer captured on video assaulting a journalist during the rerun has been interdicted and is facing criminal charges for assault.
