Ghana's Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States, Col. Rtd. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey

Accra, Ghana – 2 August, 2025 – Ghana's Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States, Col. Rtd. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, has called on the country's security services to intensify intelligence gathering in their operations. This appeal comes in response to the changing security landscape driven by technological innovation.

Col. Gbevlo-Lartey emphasized the importance of adapting to new security dynamics during a two-day workshop organized by the Ministry of the Interior. Ghana's peace has been built on an open-door policy towards neighboring countries and Africa as a whole, making it crucial for security services to stay ahead of potential threats.

The workshop highlighted the need for proper collaboration with key stakeholders and taking an interest in global issues to maintain peace and avoid conflict. Board Chairs and Heads of Agencies were advised to stick to their core responsibilities and work together in the interest of their institutions.
