NAPO will transfer Ghana with his arrogance - Afenyo-Markin jabs NDC

The Majority leader in Ghana's parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 general elections, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has the potential to help transform Ghana, despite the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) efforts to portray him as arrogant.

According to him, the NDC made similar claims against then-candidate Akufo-Addo and were not successful. He believes the opposition will not thrive with their current claims against Dr. Opoku Agyemang.

He made these pronouncements during the 2024 Manifesto launch of the new Patriotic Party (NPP) in Takoradi on August 18, 2024.

He praised NAPO's efforts in implementing the free SHS policy during his stint as Education Minister, when the initiative was first implemented.

“Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was there at the Education Ministry. He led the rollout of the Free SHS. Somebody who was a Professor was there and said that the Free SHS was not possible."

“We know you tagged Akufo-Addo also as arrogant but it didn’t work. NAPO is ready to transform Ghana with arrogance."

“Today she says she is Literature Professor. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is ready to debate this Literature Professor. She should not run away.

“Even if you tag him as arrogant, we know you’ve done it to Akufo-Addo it didn’t work. He is ready to transform Ghana with his arrogance as running mate to the flag bearer to become Vice President,” he stated.
