Mahama Names Prosper Bani, Kofi Boakye, Four Others to Oversee National Security

Accra, Ghana 03 Jan, 2025 - President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a six-member team to oversee and coordinate national security issues in Ghana, pending substantive appointments.

According to a statement signed by the spokesperson of Mahama's Transition Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the team is set to begin its mandate on January 7, 2025 and will be led by former Minister for Interior, Prosler Douglas Bani.

Other notable members of the team include:

- Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff, bringing decades of military expertise to the table
- Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister of National Security, with a deep understanding of Ghana's security landscape
- Larry Gbevlo Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator, providing valuable insight into the country's security coordination efforts
- Brigadier General Fuseoni Iddrissu (Rtd.) and;

- COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.), both respected veterans in Ghana's military and police forces
