Politics and 'Evil' Forces Ruining Ghana Football - Asamoah Gyan

Accra, Ghana - 03 Jan, 2025 - In a candid and explosive Instagram Live session, former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has blamed the presence of "evil" individuals for Ghana's failure to win major tournaments.

Gyan, who had a storied career with the Black Stars, made the shocking claim during a conversation with his followers, which quickly turned into a revealing exposé.

The legendary striker stopped short of naming names, but his comments suggested that some of these individuals may be linked to the country's politics.

Gyan's remarks have sparked widespread debate and speculation, with many fans and pundits calling for him to reveal more about the "evil" forces he claims are hindering the team's success.

“There are evil people in this country; That’s is why we can’t win anything because of these people. They have tarnished Ghana’s reputation with dirt.''

“They used my popularity as a political tactic to get my fans to vote for them,'' he lamented.

The Black Stars have not won the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 43 years, and will miss out on this year's tournament in Morocco.

Gyan's comments have also raised questions about the intersection of politics and sports in Ghana, and whether external factors are indeed contributing to the team's lack of success.
