9 hospitalized after NPP-NDC supporters clash in Mamobi
Mamobi, Accra, Ghana - October 13, 2024 - A violent clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, a suburb of Accra, has left nine people injured.
The incident occurred on Sunday, October 13, according to a police press release.
Seven of the injured have been treated and discharged, while two others are still receiving medical care. The police have restored calm in the area and are conducting an intelligence-led operation to apprehend the perpetrators, who have been identified.
This latest incident is not an isolated event, as similar clashes have been reported in other parts of the country. Recently, a deadly clash occurred at Asawase, leaving NDC and NPP supporters injured after some NDC members discovered equipment branded with NPP logos. Additionally, three people were injured during a clash between NPP and NDC members at Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency.
The police are urging the public to remain calm and are working to ensure that those responsible face justice.
