Johnson Aseidu Nketiah is Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)

Ghana's opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged its supporters to remain vigilant against what it describes as the ruling party's cunning campaign tactics.

Addressing a packed rally in Madina on Dec 5,the NDC's national chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, called on party faithful to stand firm and united as they cast their ballots. He emphasized the importance of voting decisively for both the NDC's presidential and parliamentary candidates, warning against attempts to split the vote. also known as ' 'skirt and blouse”.

The opposition leader's warning comes as the NDC seeks to regain power in the West African nation. The party has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to deceive voters with clever campaign tactics.

“I want to urge you; all of a sudden the NPP have found a reason to campaign for John Mahama and campaign for our parliamentary candidate. Tell them that we have seen through all their tricks. President Mahama is going back into office with a solid majority in Parliament,'' he stated.

''We are not going to fall for the tricks of the skirt and blouse people. We are voting for President Mahama and voting for our parliamentary candidate. I am standing here and have worked with the 276 parliamentary candidates of this party across the country. I am convinced that we are returning to office with a very strong majority in Parliament,” he added.
