Mahama represents the past and I'm the future - Bawumia warns against return to past as Ghana heads to polls
As Ghana prepares to head to the polls on December 7, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reaffirmed his commitment to steering the country towards a prosperous future.
Addressing supporters at the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) final rally at the University of Ghana Sports park on Dec 5, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need for forward-thinking leadership, contrasting his vision with that of his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama.
Dr. Bawumia's speech centered on the theme of choice, urging Ghanaians to decide between a future-driven approach and an outdated one.
He positioned himself as the leader who embodies the future of Ghana, while his opponent represents the past.
“This election is a clear choice between the future and the past. My opponent represents the past and I, Dr Bawumia, represent the future of this country,” he stated.
“So, the choice that we have on Saturday, as we go to vote, is whether we want to go forward into the future or backwards into the past. A mindset of possibilities underpins us in the NPP and the work that we have done.
“We believe that it is possible to transform this country into an advanced nation,” he added.
