We have done more than the NDC - Bawumia touts NPP's job creation, infrastructure development and economic growth

Akrofuom, Ashanti Region Ghana - Nov 13, 2024 - Ghana's presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has confidently declared that his party's government has surpassed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in every sector, despite navigating global crises like COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Dr. Bawumia threw down the gauntlet, challenging former President Mahama to name just one beneficial infrastructural project during his tenure at a community engagement in Akrofuom, Ashanti Region, on Tuesday, November 12.

He also criticized Mahama for declining a debate invitation, stating that he "ran away like a chicken, he's scared".

NPP notwithstanding COVID-19, and all the global crisis, every sector of the economy, we have performed better than him [Mahama Dramani Mahama].”

“We have created more jobs, we have built more roads, more railways, more airports, more schools, more libraries, more sanitation facilities, more cocoa jobs, more agriculture, more industries, more Zongo Development. In every sector of the economy, we have done more than you.

“That is why I asked the former President to tell us one infrastructural development he has done that has benefitted the country. Just one infrastructure and he has not been able to do so.

“That is why I threw a challenge to him to debate me, but he refused. He ran away like a chicken, he’s scared.''

This bold assertion comes as Ghana prepares for its pivotal 2024 general elections, with the NPP and NDC presenting distinct visions for the country's future. The NPP's focus on economic recovery, job creation, education, healthcare, and governance will be closely scrutinized as the election draws near.
