There will be no mining in river bodies and forest reserves under next NPP gov't - NAPO
Odotobri, Ashanti Region - Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, running mate to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to put an end to mining in water bodies and forest reserves if their party assumes power.
This promise was made during his campaign tour in Odotobri, Ashanti Region.
According to Dr. Prempeh, the next NPP administration will provide environmentally friendly mining equipment to minimize harm to the environment and river bodies.
“The law will be that there will be no mining in river bodies and mining in forest reserves. There will be laws to regulate how mining will also be done. The government will bring a new policy that will ensure that mining communities and community mining are given the necessary equipment to ensure that the environment is not destroyed,'' he stated.
