We are buying laptops for children, Mahama could not even provide chalks - Bawumia
Northern Region, Ghana - Nov 22, 2024 - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has drawn attention to the stark contrast between the current government's achievements and those of the previous administration led by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Mahama.
In an address to supporters in the Northern Region on November 21, Dr. Bawumia noted that whereas schools previously struggled with chalk shortages, the current government has made significant strides in providing digital tools to students and teachers.
“In his time, there was no chalk in schools. We are buying tablets for school children. Every child will get one. No one will be left out. We are even buying laptops for teachers. We are buying it for teachers from Kindergarten to SHS.”
Dr. Bawumia's comments came as he embarked on a series of visits to key constituencies in the Northern Region. The NPP flagbearer used the opportunity to engage with local residents, outline his vision for Ghana's future, and emphasize the importance of forward-thinking development.
The visits formed part of Dr. Bawumia's ongoing nationwide tour, which has seen him travel to various parts of the country to connect with voters and share the NPP's message of transformation and progress.
In the Northern Region, Dr. Bawumia visited the constituencies of Tolon, Kumbungu, and Tamale South, where he was warmly received by local supporters. During his visit to Tolon, the NPP flagbearer also commissioned a new mosque, underscoring the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
