WAPCo Shifts Pipeline "Pigging" Exercise to February 3
Accra, Ghana - 15 Jan, 2025 - The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has pushed back its planned offshore pipeline cleaning and inspection exercise commonly known as "pigging", initially set to begin on January 20, 2025 to February 3, 2025.
In a statement issued on 15 Jan, WAPCo stated that the move is to better accommodate the interests of key stakeholders.
According to WAPCo, the delay is to ensure that all parties involved are adequately prepared for the exercise, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the pipeline.
''The West African Gas Pipeline Company Likited (WAPCo) has announced a revised schedule for its planned offshore pipeline cleaning and inspection exercise, commonly known as "pigging".
'' Initially set to commence on January 20, 2025, the offshore pushing has been rescheduled to start on February 3, 2025, to better accommodate the interests of key stakeholders,'' portions of the statement read.
The West African Gas Pipeline is a critical piece of infrastructure that supplies gas to several countries in the region.
