WAEC Releases 2024 WASSCE Provisional Results After Delay
Accra, Ghana - December 30, 2024 - The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has finally released the provisional results of the 2024 West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), after a delay caused by unpaid debts owed by the Ghanaian government.
According to WAEC's Head of Public Affairs, John K. Kapi, the results are now available online, and school heads will receive login details to access their students' results. However, Kapi warned the public to beware of scammers offering fraudulent results upgrades for a fee in a statement issued on December 30.
The results reveal a mixed performance, with a decline in scores for English Language, Integrated Science, and Social Studies, while Mathematics showed an improvement.
WAEC also took action against examination malpractices, canceling subject results for 4,108 candidates, annulling entire results for 483 candidates, and withholding results for 781 and 209 candidates, respectively.
To access their results, candidates can purchase a results checker using various mobile payment options, including Shortcode & MoMo and MTN MoMo.
