Akufo-Addo Honors Bawumia with Prestigious 'Order of the Star of Ghana' Award
Accra, Ghana - December 30, 2024 - Ghana's outgoing Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been conferred with the country's highest honour, the Order of the Star of Ghana - Officer Award. This prestigious recognition comes after eight years of dedicated public service as Vice President.
The award was presented by President Akufo-Addo at the 2024 National Honours event, held at the Accra International Conference Centre. Dr Bawumia's commitment to national development has been exemplary, and this honour is a testament to his tireless efforts.
The ceremony also saw other notable Ghanaians receiving national honours for their contributions to various sectors, including civil service, education, and journalism. Among them was Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr Bawumia's running mate in the 2024 elections, who received the Order of the Volta - Officer Awardee.
