Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is the Vice-President of Ghana

Accra, Ghana - 09 April, 2025 - Ghana's Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is reportedly in good health and taking a short break in the United Kingdom, following her doctor's advice.

Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed this development during an interview on Channel One TV's "Face to Face" program on Tuesday April 8, 2025.

Kwakye Ofosu assured the public that Professor Opoku-Agyemang is in good health and expected to resume her duties soon.

According to him, the Vice President is currently in the UK, where she is taking a short rest as advised by her doctors.

“She is currently in good health and taking a short rest as advised by her doctors and, in short order, she should be back to her duties.

“She is in the United Kingdom as I speak,”

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang serves alongside President John Mahama, as the first female Vice President in Ghana's history. The duo won the 2024 presidential election, with Mahama defeating incumbent Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
