Small-Scale Miners Association Holds Talks with Sammy Gyamfi

Accra, Ghana - 25 Jan, 2025 - The leadership of Ghana's small-scale miners association yesterday paid a courtesy call on Sammy Gyamfi Esq., the newly appointed Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).

This meeting comes as the mining sector eagerly awaits the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board, a key initiative promised by President Mahama's administration.

The proposed Gold Board, also known as "GoldBod," seeks to provide mining support services to the small-scale mining industry, ensuring that Ghana's gold resources are harnessed effectively and sustainably. The miners' association lauded the vision behind the initiative and shared ideas on how to implement it for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

President Mahama's comprehensive vision for the mining sector also includes establishing a Ghana Mining Excellence Centre, which will drive research and innovation in sustainable mining practices.

The centre will collaborate with international scientists and focus on fostering green growth within Ghana's mining and minerals industry.
